Presenters:
Judy Butler, Director of
Education and Public Outreach at the Center of Excellence, Tennessee State
University
Debby Gould, the Executive Director for
the Nashville Public Education Foundation
Have you
wanted to write grants but were not certain just how to get started? This
workshop will provide information on the steps to follow, how to find partners
to help in the project, procedures for developing a reasonable budget and
secretes to designing an effective evaluation plan. Before you do any of these
things you have to begin with a great idea. Bring your ideas to discuss and
brainstorm. Examples of winning proposals will be shared with the group.
Judy
Butler has been awarded over 25 educational grants for individual schools and
system-wide projects during the last 12 years while working in Williamson
County Schools and now in her role as an educational consultant. Hear her tips
for success and the pitfalls to avoid.
Since becoming
director for the Nashville Public Education Foundation in 1989, Debby Gould has
managed over $1 million of direct grants competitions awarded to teachers and
principals. In addition, she
has written grants and managed demonstration initiatives within the school
system, which have brought more than $3.75 million of programs and resources
into the public schools of Nashville.
Please
plan to bring your lunch. Snacks and drinks provided!
